SENIOR PASTOR
Rev. Robert (Bob) Wilson
Since July 1, 2016, Rev. Robert L. Wilson has been senior pastor of the First Baptist Church of Titusville.
In addition to shepherding the First Baptist congregation as “Pastor Bob,” he also serves in leadership roles in the community as well as local and state Baptist organizations. He currently is a member of the Florida Baptist Convention’s State Board of Missions and vice moderator for their Loans Committee. Additionally, he acts as moderator for the Brevard Baptist Association.
Rev. Wilson also is a doctoral candidate at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri, in the Doctor of Educational Ministries Program. His thesis focuses on Integration of Expositional Preaching and Discipleship.
A native of Kansas City, Rev. Wilson was born in 1979.
Following his call to become a minister, Rev. Wilson began preaching and teaching in Kansas City. This is where he was called to ministry.
Rev. Wilson went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in biblical and theological studies from Boyce College of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky in 2005.
While attending Boyce College, in 2000 Rev Wilson was a summer missionary assistant for the Southern Baptist Convention’s International Mission Board in Myanmar in the People’s Republic of China. In 2001 he spent a summer as missions pastor at Moose Pass Baptist Church in Alaska.
During his time at Southern Seminary, Rev. Wilson met Christa Moore. A native of Savannah, Georgia, she was studying music education at the seminary. They married July 6, 2002, in Louisville. Rev. Wilson and Christa have six children.
Rev. Wilson’s diverse service as a senior pastor includes Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Redford, Michigan, between 2005 and 2007, and First Southern Baptist Church of Hawthorne, Nevada from 2008 to 2010. From 2011 to 2014, Rev. Wilson was pastor and church planter, starting a new fellowship, Sola Church, in Cookeville, Tennessee.
In addition to his pastoral experience, Rev. Wilson also has excelled as a competitive intelligence analyst having worked directly with many top national and international companies. He contributed to over 20 market industry reports in the areas of packaging, material handling and building materials.
In 2015, Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City awarded Rev. Wilson a master’s degree with highest honors in theological studies.
In his spare time, Rev. Wilson coaches a youth baseball team as part of the Indian River City Little League. He also is a board member for the league and serves as their director of Sponsorship. Rev. Wilson enjoys reading, woodworking, boat building, fishing, hunting and other outdoors activities.
Christa Wilson is the owner/photographer of Christa Wilson Images and she teaches piano. Christa is a busy mom managing their home and educating the children. When time allows, she likes to relax with a cup of coffee and a book.
