Pastor Ray Johnson

 

 

Ray Johnson has been the pastor of First Baptist Church since 1980. He and his wife Jeannie have four children and seven grandchildren. 

Pastor Ray is native of Florida. He graduated from Florida Southern College in Lakeland and attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in New Orleans. He also studied at Norman College, Norman Park, GA; Mississippi College, Clinton, MS; Louisiana State University, New Orleans Campus; Luther Rice Seminary, Atlanta, GA; The Seminary Extension of The Sunday School Division of the Southern Baptist Convention. 

Pastor Ray has served as the chaplain of the Titusville Police Department and is a member of International Conference of Police Chaplains. He is also sponsored by the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. 

He also serves as a Disaster Chaplain for the Florida Baptist Convention. He has been called on to serve during hurricanes Charlie, Jeanne, Francis and Katrina. 

Pastor Ray has written for numerous publications including The Deacon, Church Administration, Proclaim (preaching journal), and other periodicals. He has also written as a columnist for a local newspaper.
